In a town, there lived Old Bill Annoyingly witty, he had a skill With puns and quips, he'd fill the air In response to all, with a sly flair He'd make them smile, but inside seethe His antics tested patience, people'd breathe Yet they tried to endure, keep their cool For Bill's jests were the town's oddball rule But one fateful day, it all came to a head A lady's patience snapped, words left unsaid She slapped Old Bill, a resounding sound An awakening moment all around A lesson that he would finally learn Without anyone saying a word Stunned and silent, Bill took the blow His puns and quips no longer aglow In that humbling moment, he could see How his humour affected those near and dear Now Bill's a changed man, his heart is true His puns more measured, less askew Learned the value of thoughtful speech To lift others up, not just to reach

Some birds might fall down from their nests Some birds are caught by men's nets But some can leave without a trace You wonder where they've flown to next Some birds they fly so very fast They leave their mark when they hit the glass But some sail on winds that lead them away You wonder how long you'll be apart Some birds are made Of porcelain and clay They never leave the nest all day Cause if they try For once to fly They'll only fall straight down and hit the ground Like birds, we can either be alone Or venture so very far from home The fragileness that living birds may claim Is also true of those made of clay

This old house was standing here long before We first stepped inside, stepped inside Many others have eaten here, and slept in there Where they lived and died, lived and died We don't plan on going anywhere, maybe neither did they But something must've changed all their plans and then they moved away, moved away We don't own homes, they just let us stay We don't own homes, they just let us stay I guess I've added something here and something there Unlike all those before, those before Does that mean that I've got staying power A better track record, track record? Just keep us safe from the bitter cold and the rain, cold and the rain, cold and the rain All the memory of the sadness from before, we'll try to erase, we'll try to erase We don't own homes, they just let us stay We don't own homes, they just let us stay

Well, I've hung around until I have found That the longer I stay, I will never rebound If I never get up, burden's will never let up But I'm gonna move on and keep looking up Been keeping company far too long with misery I've gotta move on, time to think about me The road lies ahead, green lights no red Well shake out the lead, cause it's time to move on Leave all of my problems far behind Start living, let go of the grind Let go of my worries, put them where they belong Cause it's time, time, time to move on No looking back, just start making tracks You've gotta move on, you'll never lose what you lack Brighter days are in view, well I believe that's true I need to shake loose, its time to move on

Mouse House 04:18
In the dead of night, I lay in my bed But sleep won't come, there's fear in my head Tiny feet scurrying across the floor A chilling presence, that I can't ignore In this game of hide and seek, I'm the one's who's lost As the mice invade, my nerves are shot Welcome to the mouse house, where dreams go astray In the darkness, they creep, causing fright and dismay I'm tossing and turning, in this sleepless fight Haunted by their presence throughout the night I pull up the covers, seeking a little peace But they're scurrying paws increase my heartbeat Every squeak and rustle, opens my eyes In the mouse house realm, ruling the night But I'll find my courage, face the fear that's inside No longer fear what's hidden behind Traps and barricades, will keep them at bay Reclaim my sleep and drive the mice away

Fingerprints 04:36
In shadows, fingerprints dance unseen A criminal's power, a twisted scheme With touch transformed, he weaves deceit Shoplifting gains, others take the heat A silent game of stolen goods and lies His fingerprints shift, the truth denied Yet murder's edge, he dares not to tread A line he won't cross, no soul is shed Now who but he could live an untruth? How can he do what no man can do? And wear at will another man's fingerprints And swapping his prints around when he sees fit? In petty theft, he finds his thrill Manipulating prints at will But deeper crimes, he shuns the night His conscience still guides him, keeps him aright Who but he with nothing to lose Would live by morals he'd pick and choose?

All the pieces composed All the paintings and brush strokes Shared by the genius of your mind Your hands gracefully toiled You were ardently employed In masterpieces for us to enjoy That have stood the test of time But you were not around To see how wonderful and profound Your works would become after your span of time When you were in your prime Surely you'd be surprised If you were still alive And able to witness and realise Your value and worth to the masses All the classic treasures That have brought us such joy and pleasure As time slowly passes Back then you were not appreciated Like you are now for all that you created You would only become after your span of time, When you were in your prime

Sally, Sally's spectacles Through shattered lenses, she yearns to see What her life could mean Sally, Sally's spectacles In her quest for vintage frames she finds Inner peace Sally's on a quest, a collector of the past Hunting through stores, obsession's unsurpassed Old style glasses, her treasures so rare Like a magpie drawn to shine, she seeks them everywhere But sometimes the shelves are bare, her heart beings to ache Tissues soaked in frustration, as dream's starting to break Frames from eras lost, she cradles them with care In her room they line the walls, a spectacle affair A symphony of shapes and hues, a testament to time Yet an elusive, perfect pair remains her uphill climb Finally a gleam of hope, a frame that steals her heart Excitement courses through her veins, she can't stay apart In trembling hands, she hold them far too tight With a snap, they break, and dream's lost from her sight

In a realm beyond the stars, a visitor arrived An alien in human form, with curious eyes Seeking understanding, exploring Earth's terrain But little did he know, he'd find it hard to remain He observes with fascination, their peculiar ways But their sense of humour falls short, causing disarray A constant barrage of puns and gags that lack appeal Leaving him bewildered and seeking something more real Oh, this world of jest and wit, where laughter fills the air But the humour here on Earth is shown with little care So he blends into the crowd, cause their jokes just feel obscene He realised there and then, Laughter can be mean Laughter can be mean One day, a pranksters folly, an act he can't erase Someone tried to mock him, put adhesive on his face A third eye taped in jest, a gesture deemed so strange For humanity's comedy, it just won't make him change With each passing day, he studies comedy's art Analyzing puns and word play, seeking to impart He learns the subtle nuances, the timing and the cues Discovering the power to uplift, to heal the sorely bruised

I once dreamed of the moon, that beacon of white light Ever reaching, soaring above, in the velvet of the night I trained for the stars, gave it my all, my heart and soul But my body betrayed me and took its heavy toll So they said, 'Sorry my son, your health just wont permit You wont see those polar caps, the moon's not your orbit' The doctors words cut deep, denied my cosmic flight Now I'm grounded here on Earth, drowning in the night I dreamed of seeing the North Pole, floating from so very far Instead, I'm watching the ice cubes floating inside my glass My orbit's to the tavern, that how it tends to be The future was bright till it faded The sky's the limit for me I'll be thinking of lunar dust and that celestial sight Though I'll never leave this earth, I'll keep dreaming of that flight The tavern's my launchpad, the bottle's my rocket fuel I've lost the stars that I used to chase, now just some earth-bound fool The stars in my glass, they twinkle so bright But they'll never replace the dream of that flight But dreams can be cut short when they're only sky high So here's to the dreamers, not matter if we fly or fall Sometime's life's gravity eventually gets to us all As many stars I've counted seems to be the amount that try and fail Just another loser sitting at a bar telling tall tales
