He stares longing at the exit sign Ten minute countdown to retiring time They'd planned a party, he'd planned to bolt And when the time was right he would be slipping out And smiling briefly at the wall Were family photos he'd hung years before But they'd moved out and they'd moved on Now there's only him living in the house Thought you were almost through But life had new plans for you Out of retirement Back in the midst of it, working the same old shifts Rubbing the skin to the bone Visions of time to paint Poured out from the bucket to the drain Out of retirement, till you hit the grave Slowly dementia starts to set in But so do the bills so there's no quitting here Focus on getting through - pushing on But time is pushing back, yeah time is pushing back Look at all those kids working here Wondering why he doesn't call it quits He'd tried to pick up some new skill He tried his best but never had the knack But you know that there's the hidden truth That you're loving what's been given to you Now it's the only way

Good Morning 03:17
Good morning, how you feeling today? You tell me all of your worries and I'll blow them away Just look up to the sky and see the sun's new rays Good morning, is that fear in your eyes? You know if one thing's for certain, then it's me by your side It seems a way to go, but you know time can fly So when the darkness comes and it's calling your name And when the rain starts pouring and you're pushing away You know that you were never alone You know that you were never alone Good morning, it's another day down Though there's some readjusting, we've got momentum now Like the hands of a clock that just keep going round And someday, when we're on the last stretch I know what's coming's so special, we'll never forget The years that follow may wind up being our best

I can see a rainbow shining in my mind And when the sun is gently glowing It lights up where my heart is going I pour the paint, I dip the brush like many have before While Leo paints his Mona Lisa I'm adding coats to hardwood timber What they don't understand When the paint leaves the can: We're all artists that add to the canvas The colour of life by the stroke of a hand Many strokes made or few We all use the same tools It's all coming from my mind's eye And delivered to you It's all coming from my mind's eye And delivered to you Sit myself on down by the glow of candle light The blank canvas is flickering As if eagerly awaiting I pour the paint, I dip the brush like so many times before And find myself start painting The home just renovated

PART 1 We drove this road together At least a dozen times Like elephants we'd remember And kept it in our minds How come it looks so different From the way that we had known? Somehow we lost that contact And I'm sitting on my own, on my own Batten down the hatches, no sleeping here tonight Corridors stretch on forever beaming fluorescent light Beating down those twin doors, but no one heres the plight Lost and last of the one left behind You'd think they'd keep the memory But would they think of me? Is she sleeping now or screaming Or coming home with me? Clock hands run ever slower Patience is wearing thin Fists are pounding doors Till they finally let me in, let me in PART 2 A promise made to last, a long time ago Left tattered to the side and not much left to show The slow-burn realisation of callousness left unchecked Lay writhing by the hour Lay waiting on the bed "Oh, we'll come to see you now" "Oh, you know we didn't forget!" "Oh, you better go grab your bag" "You won't be going, going home yet" Though you say the hours were like just mere minutes Though you feel there's no harm, just forgive 'em and forget it We were lost and last of the ones left behind

Bethany 03:19
Bethany, I'm waiting here to meet you And hoping that we make it a good start The room's made up, the cot is by the window I'm hoping that this song is good enough And if you're worried about entering the cold Just look at the variety of all those clothes Bethany, this living thing ain't easy And trust me there are firsts for you and I Each new breath gets smoother than the last one It's really not so bad out on this side If you're cold and feeling just a little kind of cheated We've just gone out and bought for you a new wood heater And if you are seeing, those monsters in the dark We'll shine a light down on them, and they'll fall apart Bethany, so very special to me The fact in what you are has never been Things from now will never be repeated You're showing me a world I've never seen Hoping here that we can do the best that we can do Knowing that the home we made can now be your home now too

There's a girl in the mirror and she's waiting for you Somehow she knows what you're thinking at the same time you do And she never gives complaint about how long she waits No, she's there for the longer (she's there for the longer) No, she's there for the longer when she glimpses you There's a girl in the mirror as you walk down the hall You never ever miss her as she stares from the wall And you'll only let her down if you look to the ground And if you lean in closer (you lean in closer), And if you lean in closer, she leans all the more And when you smile (she will smile) And when you laugh (she will laugh) And when you cry, she'll shed a tear But you know that she'll always be right here There's a girl in the mirror that you know where to find If you're having a bad day with the people outside If you give her your palm, she will give you her own With the girl in the mirror (the girl in the mirror) With the girl in the mirror, you're never alone And you know that we'll always be right here

Jojo 02:18
It’s jojo from the garden It’s jojo to you It’s jojo from the garden It’s jojo from the garden to you So when you put on your jojo You’re feeling really good You’re ready to be seen out in the neighbourhood So put on your jojo You know there’s no debate You’ll travel out in style with a really fresh face It’s jojo from the garden It’s jojo to you It’s jojo from the garden It’s jojo from the garden to you I know it’s kind of slimy Makes you feel a mess With all the oil oozing all around your head But put on your jojo Just feel the relief Life without such flaky skin can be a relief

Photographs 04:21
Looking through the photographs in the frames up on the shelf Never quite revealing all things that we have done And every smile there whether genuine or just put on Are frozen in the state of a moment never gone But you never know how the story will go And you never know what forks the road Sometimes you wind up right where you want to be Fears of times you’ll fall apart They never seem make their start Finally found the missing part when two become three Flicking through the albums of the photos we have taken Pages lie empty awaiting what’s to come And with all these blank spots, I still feel without a doubt So proud of the lady I know you will become Sun is shining light in my mind The colour hits the page to my eyes Seeing clearly all that has been Shines a way to a new road for three

I was born in a time when the line seemed so thin Where a life could end before it'd begin And if there's one thing I've learnt on my time here on earth Is if it happened once, it sure can again The face of those creeping behind your back Can change so quickly to all out attack And the life that sustains you in the air that you breathe May just make you the next casualty Flash forward another eighty years yet again on the run Enemy's approaching, threatening to blow their poison down to your lungs I reach for the mask before I reach to hold The hand of my son's newborn And I wonder in years to come, if he can recall My smile kept hidden from all? You put in the time, you thought you were done Survived all their raids, survived all their guns What wind's coming now is blowing around and around and around and around

In the last few moments, when you've closed your eyes for the last time You will find there's bonus content, like a short film in your mind And now you're wondering, 'Can we be sure of this?' 'Nobody's lived again to be confirming it' A simple scan can prove it, while all is shutting down, the brain's still working So rest assured of light entertainment, before you're aware of nothing And now you're worrying, 'That's kind of creepy' 'Is there a rating on what I'm seeing?' Seven minutes of all good things Seven minutes of all good things All the highs and no more lows A celebration before you go You're seeing what's almost forgotten, in the deepest depths of this old mind The closest bonds and the soaring on high, you never stopped and thought to realise And so you feel at peace despite some pushing Hoping to stretch it out another minute (Think of all, think of all the good things) (Think of all, think of all the good things) (All the highs, all the highs, all the highs and no more lows) (All the highs, all the highs and no more)
